제4장 거절(Rejection)
내용 우리가 성격의 벽을 쌓아올리는데 사용한 벽돌, 여러 가지 성격들을 검토한다. 거절의 벽이 무엇으로 이루어졌으며, 그 작용과 역할이 무엇인지가 우리가 연구해야 할 문제이다. 성처로부터 우리를 방어하기 위한 거절의 벽은 단계를 밟아갈수록 결국 실패로 끝나버리게 된다.

삼하 17: 1 아히도벨이 또 압살롬에게 이르되 이제 나로 하여금 사람 일만 이천을
택하게 하소서 오늘 밤에 내가 일어나서 다윗의 뒤를 따라
삼하 17: 2 저가 곤하고 약할 때에 엄습하여 저를 무섭게 한즉 저와 함께 있는 모든
백성이 도망하리니 내가 다윗 왕만 쳐죽이고
삼하 17: 3 모든 백성으로 왕께 돌아오게 하리니 무리의 돌아오기는 왕의 찾는 이
사람에게 달렸음이라 그리하면 모든 백성이 평안하리이다
삼하 17: 4 압살롬과 이스라엘 장로들이 다 그 말을 옳게 여기더라
삼하 17: 5 압살롬이 이르되 아렉 사람 후새도 부르라 우리가 저의 말도 듣자 하니라
삼하 17: 6 후새가 압살롬에게 이르매 압살롬이 저에게 말하여 가로되 아히도벨이
여차여차히 말하니 우리가 그 말대로 행하랴 그렇지 않거든 너는 말하라
삼하 17: 7 후새가 압살롬에게 이르되 이 때에는 아히도벨의 베푼 모략이 선치
아니하니이다 하고
삼하 17: 8 또 말하되 왕도 아시거니와 왕의 부친과 그 종자들은 용사라 저희는 들에
있는 곰이 새끼를 빼앗긴 것같이 격분하였고 왕의 부친은 병법에 익은
사람인즉 백성과 함께 자지 아니하고
삼하 17: 9 이제 어느 굴에나 어느 곳에 숨어 있으리니 혹 무리 중에 몇이 먼저
엎드러지면 그 소문을 듣는 자가 말하기를 압살롬을 좇는 자 가운데서
패함을 당하였다 할지라
삼하 17: 10 비록 용감하여 사자 같은 자의 마음이라도 저상하리니 이는 이스라엘
무리가 왕의 부친은 영웅이요 그 종자들도 용사인 줄 앎이니이다
삼하 17: 11 나의 모략은 이러하니이다 온 이스라엘을 단부터 브엘세바까지 바닷가의
많은 모래같이 왕께로 모으고 친히 전장에 나가시고
삼하 17: 12 우리가 그 만날 만한 곳에서 저를 엄습하기를 이슬이 땅에 내림같이 저의
위에 덮여 저와 그 함께 있는 모든 사람을 하나도 남겨 두지 아니할 것이요
삼하 17: 13 또 만일 저가 어느 성에 들었으면 온 이스라엘이 줄을 가져다가 그 성을
강으로 끌어들여서 그 곳에 한 작은 돌도 보이지 않게 할 것이니이다 하매
삼하 17: 14 압살롬과 온 이스라엘 사람들이 이르되 아렉 사람 후새의 모략은
아히도벨의 모략보다 낫다 하니 이는 여호와께서 압살롬에게 화를 내리려
하사 아히도벨의 좋은 모략을 파하기로 작정하셨음이더라
삼하 17: 15 이에 후새가 사독과 아비아달 두 제사장에게 이르되 아히도벨이 압살롬과
이스라엘 장로들에게 여차여차히 모략을 베풀었고 나도 여차여차히
모략을 베풀었으니
삼하 17: 16 이제 너희는 빨리 사람을 보내어 다윗에게 고하기를 오늘 밤에 광야
나룻터에서 자지 마시고 아무쪼록 건너가소서 하라 혹시 왕과 그 좇는
자들이 몰사할까 하노라 하니라
삼하 17: 17 그 때에 요나단과 아히마아스가 사람이 볼까 두려워하여 감히 성에
들어가지 못하고 에느로겔 가에 머물고 어떤 계집종은 저희에게 나와서
고하고 저희는 가서 다윗에게 고하더니
삼하 17: 18 한 소년이 저희를 보고 압살롬에게 고한지라 그 두 사람이 빨리 달려서
바후림 어떤 사람의 집으로 들어가서 그 뜰에 있는 우물 속으로 내려가니
삼하 17: 19 그 집 여인이 덮을 것을 가져다가 우물 아구를 덮고 찧은 곡식을 그 위에
널매 도무지 알지 못할러라
삼하 17: 20 압살롬의 종들이 그 집에 와서 여인에게 묻되 아히마아스와 요나단이
어디 있느냐 여인이 가로되 그들이 시내를 건너가더라 하니 저희가
찾아도 만나지 못하고 예루살렘으로 돌아가니라
삼하 17: 21 저희가 간 후에 두 사람이 우물에서 올라와서 다윗 왕에게 이르러 고하여
가로되 당신들은 일어나 빨리 물을 건너가소서 아히도벨이 당신들을
해하려고 여차여차히 모략을 베풀었나이다
삼하 17: 22 다윗이 일어나 모든 백성과 함께 요단을 건널새 새벽에 미쳐서 한 사람도
요단을 건너지 못한 자가 없었더라
삼하 17: 23 아히도벨이 자기 모략이 시행되지 못함을 보고 나귀에 안장을 지우고
떠나 고향으로 돌아가서 자기 집에 이르러 집을 정리하고 스스로 목매어
죽으매 그 아비 묘에 장사되니라
삼하 17: 24 이에 다윗은 마하나임에 이르고 압살롬은 모든 이스라엘 사람과 함께
요단을 건너니라
삼하 17: 25 압살롬이 아마사로 요압을 대신하여 군장을 삼으니라 아마사는 이스라엘
사람 이드라라 하는 자의 아들이라 이드라가 나하스의 딸 아비갈과
동침하여 저를 낳았으며 아비갈은 요압의 어미 스루야의 동생이더라
삼하 17: 26 이에 이스라엘 무리와 압살롬이 길르앗 땅에 진치니라
삼하 17: 27 다윗이 마하나임에 이르렀을 때에 암몬 족속에게 속한 랍바 사람
나하스의 아들 소비와 로데발 사람 암미엘의 아들 마길과 로글림 길르앗

삼하 17: 28 침상과 대야와 질그릇과 밀과 보리와 밀가루와 볶은 곡식과 콩과 팥과
볶은 녹두와
삼하 17: 29 꿀과 버터와 양과 치즈를 가져다가 다윗과 그 함께한 백성으로 먹게
하였으니 이는 저희 생각에 백성이 들에서 시장하고 곤하고 목마르겠다
함이더라
삼하 17: 1 Ahithophel said to Absalom, "I would choose twelve thousand men and
set out tonight in pursuit of David.
삼하 17: 2 I would attack him while he is weary and weak. I would strike him
with terror, and then all the people with him will flee. I would
strike down only the king
삼하 17: 3 and bring all the people back to you. The death of the man you seek
will mean the return of all; all the people will be unharmed."
삼하 17: 4 This plan seemed good to Absalom and to all the elders of Israel.
삼하 17: 5 But Absalom said, "Summon also Hushai the Arkite, so we can hear
what he has to say."
삼하 17: 6 When Hushai came to him, Absalom said, "Ahithophel has given this
advice. Should we do what he says? If not, give us your opinion."
삼하 17: 7 Hushai replied to Absalom, "The advice Ahithophel has given is not
good this time.
삼하 17: 8 You know your father and his men; they are fighters, and as fierce
as a wild bear robbed of her cubs. Besides, your father is an
experienced fighter; he will not spend the night with the troops.
삼하 17: 9 Even now, he is hidden in a cave or some other place. If he should
attack your troops first, whoever hears about it will say, 'There
has been a slaughter among the troops who follow Absalom.'
삼하 17: 10 Then even the bravest soldier, whose heart is like the heart of a
lion, will melt with fear, for all Israel knows that your father is
a fighter and that those with him are brave.
삼하 17: 11 "So I advise you: Let all Israel, from Dan to Beersheba--as numerous
as the sand on the seashore--be gathered to you, with you yourself
leading them into battle.
삼하 17: 12 Then we will attack him wherever he may be found, and we will fall
on him as dew settles on the ground. Neither he nor any of his men
will be left alive.
삼하 17: 13 If he withdraws into a city, then all Israel will bring ropes to
that city, and we will drag it down to the valley until not even a
piece of it can be found."
삼하 17: 14 Absalom and all the men of Israel said, "The advice of Hushai the
Arkite is better than that of Ahithophel." For the LORD had
determined to frustrate the good advice of Ahithophel in order to
bring disaster on Absalom.
삼하 17: 15 Hushai told Zadok and Abiathar, the priests, "Ahithophel has advised
Absalom and the elders of Israel to do such and such, but I have
advised them to do so and so.
삼하 17: 16 Now send a message immediately and tell David, 'Do not spend the
night at the fords in the desert; cross over without fail, or the
king and all the people with him will be swallowed up.'"
삼하 17: 17 Jonathan and Ahimaaz were staying at En Rogel. A servant girl was to
go and inform them, and they were to go and tell King David, for
they could not risk being seen entering the city.
삼하 17: 18 But a young man saw them and told Absalom. So the two of them left
quickly and went to the house of a man in Bahurim. He had a well in
his courtyard, and they climbed down into it.
삼하 17: 19 His wife took a covering and spread it out over the opening of the
well and scattered grain over it. No one knew anything about it.
삼하 17: 20 When Absalom's men came to the woman at the house, they asked,
"Where are Ahimaaz and Jonathan?" The woman answered them, "They
crossed over the brook." The men searched but found no one, so they
returned to Jerusalem.
삼하 17: 21 After the men had gone, the two climbed out of the well and went to
inform King David. They said to him, "Set out and cross the river at
once; Ahithophel has advised such and such against you."
삼하 17: 22 So David and all the people with him set out and crossed the Jordan.
By daybreak, no one was left who had not crossed the Jordan.
삼하 17: 23 When Ahithophel saw that his advice had not been followed, he
saddled his donkey and set out for his house in his hometown. He put
his house in order and then hanged himself. So he died and was
buried in his father's tomb.
삼하 17: 24 David went to Mahanaim, and Absalom crossed the Jordan with all the
men of Israel.
삼하 17: 25 Absalom had appointed Amasa over the army in place of Joab. Amasa
was the son of a man named Jether, an Israelite who had married
Abigail, the daughter of Nahash and sister of Zeruiah the mother of
Joab.
삼하 17: 26 The Israelites and Absalom camped in the land of Gilead.
삼하 17: 27 When David came to Mahanaim, Shobi son of Nahash from Rabbah of the
Ammonites, and Makir son of Ammiel from Lo Debar, and Barzillai the
Gileadite from Rogelim
삼하 17: 28 brought bedding and bowls and articles of pottery. They also brought
wheat and barley, flour and roasted grain, beans and lentils,
삼하 17: 29 honey and curds, sheep, and cheese from cows' milk for David and his
people to eat. For they said, "The people have become hungry and
tired and thirsty in the desert."
2. 사울사무엘상15장
삼상 15: 1 사무엘이 사울에게 이르되 여호와께서 나를 보내어 왕에게 기름을 부어
그 백성 이스라엘 위에 왕을 삼으셨은즉 이제 왕은 여호와의 말씀을
들으소서
삼상 15: 2 만군의 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시기를 아말렉이 이스라엘에게 행한 일
곧 애굽에서 나올 때에 길에서 대적한 일을 내가 추억하노니
삼상 15: 3 지금 가서 아말렉을 쳐서 그들의 모든 소유를 남기지 말고 진멸하되
남녀와 소아와 젖 먹는 아이와 우양과 약대와 나귀를 죽이라 하셨나이다
삼상 15: 4 사울이 백성을 소집하고 그들을 들라임에서 계수하니 보병이 이십 만이요
유다 사람이 일 만이라
삼상 15: 5 사울이 아말렉 성에 이르러 골짜기에 복병하니라
삼상 15: 6 사울이 겐 사람에게 이르되 아말렉 사람 중에서 떠나 내려가라 그들과
함께 너희를 멸하게 될까 하노라 이스라엘 모든 자손이 애굽에서 올라올
때에 너희가 그들을 선대하였느니라 이에 겐 사람이 아말렉 사람 중에서
떠나니라
삼상 15: 7 사울이 하윌라에서부터 애굽 앞 술에 이르기까지 아말렉 사람을 치고
삼상 15: 8 아말렉 사람의 왕 아각을 사로잡고 칼날로 그 모든 백성을 진멸하였으되
삼상 15: 9 사울과 백성이 아각과 그 양과 소의 가장 좋은 것 또는 기름진 것과 어린
양과 모든 좋은 것을 남기고 진멸키를 즐겨 아니하고 가치 없고 낮은
것은 진멸하니라
삼상 15: 10 여호와의 말씀이 사무엘에게 임하니라 가라사대
삼상 15: 11 내가 사울을 세워 왕 삼은 것을 후회하노니 그가 돌이켜서 나를 좇지
아니하며 내 명령을 이루지 아니하였음이니라 하신지라 사무엘이
근심하여 온 밤을 여호와께 부르짖으니라
삼상 15: 12 사무엘이 사울을 만나려고 아침에 일찌기 일어났더니 혹이 사무엘에게
고하여 가로되 사울이 갈멜에 이르러 자기를 위하여 기념비를 세우고
돌이켜 행하여 길갈로 내려갔다 하는지라
삼상 15: 13 사무엘이 사울에게 이른즉 사울이 그에게 이르되 원컨대 당신은 여호와께
복을 받으소서 내가 여호와의 명령을 행하였나이다
삼상 15: 14 사무엘이 가로되 그러면 내 귀에 들어오는 이 양의 소리와 내게 들리는
소의 소리는 어찜이니이까
삼상 15: 15 사울이 가로되 그것은 무리가 아말렉 사람에게서 끌어온 것인데 백성이
당신의 하나님 여호와께 제사하려 하여 양과 소의 가장 좋은 것을
남김이요 그 외의 것은 우리가 진멸하였나이다
삼상 15: 16 사무엘이 사울에게 이르되 가만히 계시옵소서 간밤에 여호와께서 내게
이르신 것을 왕에게 말하리이다 가로되 말씀하소서
삼상 15: 17 사무엘이 가로되 왕이 스스로 작게 여길 그 때에 이스라엘 지파의 머리가
되지 아니하셨나이까 여호와께서 왕에게 기름을 부어 이스라엘 왕을
삼으시고
삼상 15: 18 또 왕을 길로 보내시며 이르시기를 가서 죄인 아말렉 사람을 진멸하되 다
없어지기까지 치라 하셨거늘
삼상 15: 19 어찌하여 왕이 여호와의 목소리를 청종치 아니하고 탈취하기에만 급하여
여호와의 악하게 여기시는 것을 행하였나이까
삼상 15: 20 사울이 사무엘에게 이르되 나는 실로 여호와의 목소리를 청종하여
여호와께서 보내신 길로 가서 아말렉 왕 아각을 끌어왔고 아말렉 사람을
진멸하였으나
삼상 15: 21 다만 백성이 그 마땅히 멸할 것 중에서 가장 좋은 것으로 길갈에서
당신의 하나님 여호와께 제사하려고 양과 소를 취하였나이다
삼상 15: 22 사무엘이 가로되 여호와께서 번제와 다른 제사를 그 목소리 순종하는
것을 좋아하심같이 좋아하시겠나이까 순종이 제사보다 낫고 듣는 것이
숫양의 기름보다 나으니
삼상 15: 23 이는 거역하는 것은 사술의 죄와 같고 완고한 것은 사신 우상에게 절하는
죄와 같음이라 왕이 여호와의 말씀을 버렸으므로 여호와께서도 왕을 버려
왕이 되지 못하게 하셨나이다
삼상 15: 24 사울이 사무엘에게 이르되 내가 범죄하였나이다 내가 여호와의 명령과
당신의 말씀을 어긴 것은 내가 백성을 두려워하여 그 말을
청종하였음이니이다
삼상 15: 25 청하오니 지금 내 죄를 사하고 나와 함께 돌아가서 나로 여호와께
경배하게 하소서
삼상 15: 26 사무엘이 사울에게 이르되 나는 왕과 함께 돌아가지 아니하리니 이는
왕이 여호와의 말씀을 버렸으므로 여호와께서 왕을 버려 이스라엘 왕이
되지 못하게 하셨음이니이다 하고
삼상 15: 27 사무엘이 가려고 돌이킬 때에 사울이 그의 겉옷자락을 붙잡으매 찢어진지라
삼상 15: 28 사무엘이 그에게 이르되 여호와께서 오늘 이스라엘 나라를 왕에게서
떼어서 왕보다 나은 왕의 이웃에게 주셨나이다
삼상 15: 29 이스라엘의 지존자는 거짓이나 변개함이 없으시니 그는 사람이
아니시므로 결코 변개치 않으심이니이다
삼상 15: 30 사울이 가로되 내가 범죄하였을지라도 청하옵나니 내 백성의 장로들의
앞과 이스라엘의 앞에서 나를 높이사 나와 함께 돌아가서 나로 당신의
하나님 여호와께 경배하게 하소서
삼상 15: 31 이에 사무엘이 돌이켜 사울을 따라가매 사울이 여호와께 경배하니라
삼상 15: 32 사무엘이 가로되 너희는 아말렉 사람의 왕 아각을 내게로 이끌어 오라
하였더니 아각이 즐거이 오며 가로되 진실로 사망의 괴로움이 지났도다
하니라
삼상 15: 33 사무엘이 가로되 네 칼이 여인들로 무자케 한 것같이 여인 중 네 어미가
무자하리라 하고 그가 길갈에서 여호와 앞에서 아각을 찍어 쪼개니라
삼상 15: 34 이에 사무엘은 라마로 가고 사울은 사울 기브아 본집으로 올라가니라
삼상 15: 35 사무엘이 죽는 날까지 사울을 다시 가서 보지 아니하였으니 이는 그가
사울을 위하여 슬퍼함이었고 여호와께서는 사울로 이스라엘 왕 삼으신
것을 후회하셨더라
삼상 15: 1 Samuel said to Saul, "I am the one the LORD sent to anoint you king
over his people Israel; so listen now to the message from the LORD.
삼상 15: 2 This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'I will punish the Amalekites
for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up
from Egypt.
삼상 15: 3 Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy everything that
belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women,
children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.'"
삼상 15: 4 So Saul summoned the men and mustered them at Telaim--two hundred
thousand foot soldiers and ten thousand men from Judah.
삼상 15: 5 Saul went to the city of Amalek and set an ambush in the ravine.
삼상 15: 6 Then he said to the Kenites, "Go away, leave the Amalekites so that
I do not destroy you along with them; for you showed kindness to all
the Israelites when they came up out of Egypt." So the Kenites moved
away from the Amalekites.
삼상 15: 7 Then Saul attacked the Amalekites all the way from Havilah to Shur,
to the east of Egypt.
삼상 15: 8 He took Agag king of the Amalekites alive, and all his people he
totally destroyed with the sword.
삼상 15: 9 But Saul and the army spared Agag and the best of the sheep and
cattle, the fat calves and lambs--everything that was good. These
they were unwilling to destroy completely, but everything that was
despised and weak they totally destroyed.
삼상 15: 10 Then the word of the LORD came to Samuel:
삼상 15: 11 "I am grieved that I have made Saul king, because he has turned away
from me and has not carried out my instructions." Samuel was
troubled, and he cried out to the LORD all that night.
삼상 15: 12 Early in the morning Samuel got up and went to meet Saul, but he was
told, "Saul has gone to Carmel. There he has set up a monument in
his own honor and has turned and gone on down to Gilgal."
삼상 15: 13 When Samuel reached him, Saul said, "The LORD bless you! I have
carried out the LORD'S instructions."
삼상 15: 14 But Samuel said, "What then is this bleating of sheep in my ears?
What is this lowing of cattle that I hear?"
삼상 15: 15 Saul answered, "The soldiers brought them from the Amalekites; they
spared the best of the sheep and cattle to sacrifice to the LORD
your God, but we totally destroyed the rest."
삼상 15: 16 "Stop!" Samuel said to Saul. "Let me tell you what the LORD said to
me last night." "Tell me," Saul replied.
삼상 15: 17 Samuel said, "Although you were once small in your own eyes, did you
not become the head of the tribes of Israel? The LORD anointed you
king over Israel.
삼상 15: 18 And he sent you on a mission, saying, 'Go and completely destroy
those wicked people, the Amalekites; make war on them until you have
wiped them out.'
삼상 15: 19 Why did you not obey the LORD? Why did you pounce on the plunder and
do evil in the eyes of the LORD?"
삼상 15: 20 "But I did obey the LORD," Saul said. "I went on the mission the
LORD assigned me. I completely destroyed the Amalekites and brought
back Agag their king.
삼상 15: 21 The soldiers took sheep and cattle from the plunder, the best of
what was devoted to God, in order to sacrifice them to the LORD your
God at Gilgal."
삼상 15: 22 But Samuel replied: "Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and
sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the LORD? To obey is
better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.
삼상 15: 23 For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the
evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, he
has rejected you as king."
삼상 15: 24 Then Saul said to Samuel, "I have sinned. I violated the LORD'S
command and your instructions. I was afraid of the people and so I
gave in to them.
삼상 15: 25 Now I beg you, forgive my sin and come back with me, so that I may
worship the LORD."
삼상 15: 26 But Samuel said to him, "I will not go back with you. You have
rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD has rejected you as king
over Israel!"
삼상 15: 27 As Samuel turned to leave, Saul caught hold of the hem of his robe,
and it tore.
삼상 15: 28 Samuel said to him, "The LORD has torn the kingdom of Israel from
you today and has given it to one of your neighbors--to one better
than you.
삼상 15: 29 He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie or change his mind; for
he is not a man, that he should change his mind."
삼상 15: 30 Saul replied, "I have sinned. But please honor me before the elders
of my people and before Israel; come back with me, so that I may
worship the LORD your God."
삼상 15: 31 So Samuel went back with Saul, and Saul worshiped the LORD.
삼상 15: 32 Then Samuel said, "Bring me Agag king of the Amalekites." Agag came
to him confidently, thinking, "Surely the bitterness of death is
past."
삼상 15: 33 But Samuel said, "As your sword has made women childless, so will
your mother be childless among women." And Samuel put Agag to death
before the LORD at Gilgal.
삼상 15: 34 Then Samuel left for Ramah, but Saul went up to his home in Gibeah
of Saul.
삼상 15: 35 Until the day Samuel died, he did not go to see Saul again, though
Samuel mourned for him. And the LORD was grieved that he had made
Saul king over Israel.
3. 유다마태복음27:3-10
마 27: 3 때에 예수를 판 유다가 그의 정죄됨을 보고 스스로 뉘우쳐 그 은 삼십을
대제사장들과 장로들에게 도로 갖다 주며
마 27: 4 가로되 내가 무죄한 피를 팔고 죄를 범하였도다 하니 저희가 가로되
그것이 우리에게 무슨 상관이 있느냐 네가 당하라 하거늘
마 27: 5 유다가 은을 성소에 던져넣고 물러가서 스스로 목매어 죽은지라
마 27: 6 대제사장들이 그 은을 거두며 가로되 이것은 피 값이라 성전고에 넣어
둠이 옳지 않다 하고
마 27: 7 의논한 후 이것으로 토기장이의 밭을 사서 나그네의 묘지를 삼았으니
마 27: 8 그러므로 오늘날까지 그 밭을 피밭이라 일컫느니라
마 27: 9 이에 선지자 예레미야로 하신 말씀이 이루었나니 일렀으되 저희가 그
정가된 자 곧 이스라엘 자손 중에서 정가한 자의 가격 곧 은 삼십을 가지고
마 27: 10 토기장이의 밭 값으로 주었으니 이는 주께서 내게 명하신 바와 같으니라
하였더라
마 27: 3 When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he
was seized with remorse and returned the thirty silver coins to the
chief priests and the elders.
마 27: 4 "I have sinned," he said, "for I have betrayed innocent blood."
"What is that to us?" they replied. "That's your responsibility."
마 27: 5 So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away
and hanged himself.

LORD under Eli the priest.
삼상 2: 12 Eli's sons were wicked men; they had no regard for the LORD.
삼상 2: 13 Now it was the practice of the priests with the people that whenever
anyone offered a sacrifice and while the meat was being boiled, the
servant of the priest would come with a three-pronged fork in his
hand.
삼상 2: 14 He would plunge it into the pan or kettle or caldron or pot, and the
priest would take for himself whatever the fork brought up. This is
how they treated all the Israelites who came to Shiloh.
삼상 2: 15 But even before the fat was burned, the servant of the priest would
come and say to the man who was sacrificing, "Give the priest some
meat to roast; he won't accept boiled meat from you, but only raw."
삼상 2: 16 If the man said to him, "Let the fat be burned up first, and then
take whatever you want," the servant would then answer, "No, hand it
over now; if you don't, I'll take it by force."
삼상 2: 17 This sin of the young men was very great in the LORD'S sight, for
they were treating the LORD'S offering with contempt.
삼상 2: 18 But Samuel was ministering before the LORD--a boy wearing a linen
ephod.
삼상 2: 19 Each year his mother made him a little robe and took it to him when
she went up with her husband to offer the annual sacrifice.
삼상 2: 20 Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife, saying, "May the LORD give you
children by this woman to take the place of the one she prayed for
and gave to the LORD." Then they would go home.
삼상 2: 21 And the LORD was gracious to Hannah; she conceived and gave birth to
three sons and two daughters. Meanwhile, the boy Samuel grew up in
the presence of the LORD.
삼상 2: 22 Now Eli, who was very old, heard about everything his sons were
doing to all Israel and how they slept with the women who served at
the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
삼상 2: 23 So he said to them, "Why do you do such things? I hear from all the
people about these wicked deeds of yours.
삼상 2: 24 No, my sons; it is not a good report that I hear spreading among the
LORD'S people.
삼상 2: 25 If a man sins against another man, God may mediate for him; but if a
man sins against the LORD, who will intercede for him?" His sons,
however, did not listen to their father's rebuke, for it was the
LORD'S will to put them to death.
삼상 2: 26 And the boy Samuel continued to grow in stature and in favor with
the LORD and with men.
삼상 2: 27 Now a man of God came to Eli and said to him, "This is what the LORD
says: 'Did I not clearly reveal myself to your father's house when
they were in Egypt under Pharaoh?
삼상 2: 28 I chose your father out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest,
to go up to my altar, to burn incense, and to wear an ephod in my
presence. I also gave your father's house all the offerings made
with fire by the Israelites.
삼상 2: 29 Why do you scorn my sacrifice and offering that I prescribed for my
dwelling? Why do you honor your sons more than me by fattening
yourselves on the choice parts of every offering made by my people
Israel?'
삼상 2: 30 "Therefore the LORD, the God of Israel, declares: 'I promised that
your house and your father's house would minister before me
forever.' But now the LORD declares: 'Far be it from me! Those who
honor me I will honor, but those who despise me will be disdained.

strength of your father's house, so that there will not be an old
man in your family line
삼상 2: 32 and you will see distress in my dwelling. Although good will be done
to Israel, in your family line there will never be an old man.

only to blind your eyes with tears and to grieve your heart, and all

삼상 3: 18 사무엘이 세세히 말하고 조금도 숨기지 아니하니 그가 가로되 이는
여호와시니 선하신 소견대로 하실 것이니라 하니라
삼상 3: 19 사무엘이 자라매 여호와께서 그와 함께 계셔서 그 말로 하나도 땅에
떨어지지 않게 하시니
삼상 3: 20 단에서부터 브엘세바까지의 온 이스라엘이 사무엘은 여호와의 선지자로
세우심을 입은 줄을 알았더라
삼상 3: 21 여호와께서 실로에서 다시 나타나시되 여호와께서 실로에서 여호와의
말씀으로 사무엘에게 자기를 나타내시니
삼상 3: 1 The boy Samuel ministered before the LORD under Eli. In those days
the word of the LORD was rare; there were not many visions.
삼상 3: 2 One night Eli, whose eyes were becoming so weak that he could barely
see, was lying down in his usual place.
삼상 3: 3 The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in
the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was.
삼상 3: 4 Then the LORD called Samuel. Samuel answered, "Here I am."
삼상 3: 5 And he ran to Eli and said, "Here I am; you called me." But Eli
said, "I did not call; go back and lie down." So he went and lay down.
삼상 3: 6 Again the LORD called, "Samuel!" And Samuel got up and went to Eli
and said, "Here I am; you called me." "My son," Eli said, "I did not
call; go back and lie down."
삼상 3: 7 Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD: The word of the LORD had not
yet been revealed to him.
삼상 3: 8 The LORD called Samuel a third time, and Samuel got up and went to
Eli and said, "Here I am; you called me." Then Eli realized that the
LORD was calling the boy.
삼상 3: 9 So Eli told Samuel, "Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say,
'Speak, LORD, for your servant is listening.'" So Samuel went and
lay down in his place.
삼상 3: 10 The LORD came and stood there, calling as at the other times,
"Samuel! Samuel!" Then Samuel said, "Speak, for your servant is
listening."
삼상 3: 11 And the LORD said to Samuel: "See, I am about to do something in
Israel that will make the ears of everyone who hears of it tingle.
삼상 3: 12 At that time I will carry out against Eli everything I spoke against
his family--from beginning to end.
삼상 3: 13 For I told him that I would judge his family forever because of the
sin he knew about; his sons made themselves contemptible, and he
failed to restrain them.
삼상 3: 14 Therefore, I swore to the house of Eli, 'The guilt of Eli's house
will never be atoned for by sacrifice or offering.'"
삼상 3: 15 Samuel lay down until morning and then opened the doors of the house
of the LORD. He was afraid to tell Eli the vision,
삼상 3: 16 but Eli called him and said, "Samuel, my son." Samuel answered,
"Here I am."
삼상 3: 17 "What was it he said to you?" Eli asked. "Do not hide it from me.
May God deal with you, be it ever so severely, if you hide from me
anything he told you."
삼상 3: 18 So Samuel told him everything, hiding nothing from him. Then Eli
said, "He is the LORD; let him do what is good in his eyes."
삼상 3: 19 The LORD was with Samuel as he grew up, and he let none of his words
fall to the ground.
삼상 3: 20 And all Israel from Dan to Beersheba recognized that Samuel was
attested as a prophet of the LORD.
삼상 3: 21 The LORD continued to appear at Shiloh, and there he revealed
himself to Samuel through his word.
3. 바로왕출애굽기 5장-12장
출 5: 1 그 후에 모세와 아론이 가서 바로에게 이르되 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의
말씀에 내 백성을 보내라 그들이 광야에서 내 앞에 절기를 지킬 것이니라
하셨나이다
출 5: 2 바로가 가로되 여호와가 누구관대 내가 그 말을 듣고 이스라엘을
보내겠느냐 나는 여호와를 알지 못하니 이스라엘도 보내지 아니하리라
출 5: 3 그들이 가로되 히브리인의 하나님이 우리에게 나타나셨은즉 우리가 사흘
길쯤 광야에 가서 우리 하나님 여호와께 희생을 드리려 하오니 가기를
허락하소서 여호와께서 온역이나 칼로 우리를 치실까 두려워하나이다
출 5: 4 애굽 왕이 그들에게 이르되 모세와 아론아 너희가 어찌하여 백성으로
역사를 쉬게 하느냐 가서 너희의 역사나 하라
출 5: 5 또 가로되 이제 나라에 이 백성이 많거늘 너희가 그들로 역사를 쉬게
하는도다 하고
출 5: 6 바로가 당일에 백성의 간역자들과 패장들에게 명하여 가로되
출 5: 7 너희는 백성에게 다시는 벽돌 소용의 짚을 전과 같이 주지 말고 그들로
가서 스스로 줍게 하라
출 5: 8 또 그들의 전에 만든 벽돌 수효대로 그들로 만들게 하고 감하지 말라
그들이 게으르므로 소리질러 이르기를 우리가 가서 우리 하나님께 희생을
드리자 하나니
출 5: 9 그 사람들의 고역을 무겁게 함으로 수고롭게 하여 그들로 거짓말을 듣지
않게 하라
출 5: 10 간역자들과 패장들이 나아가 백성에게 일러 가로되 바로의 말씀에 내가
너희에게 짚을 주지 아니하리니
출 5: 11 너희는 짚을 얻을 곳으로 가서 주우라 너희 일은 조금도 감하지
아니하리라 하셨느니라
출 5: 12 백성이 애굽 온 땅에 흩어져 곡초 그루터기를 거두어다가 짚을 대신하니
출 5: 13 간역자들이 그들을 독촉하여 가로되 너희는 짚이 있을 때와 같이 당일
일을 당일에 마치라 하며
출 5: 14 바로의 간역자들이 자기들의 세운 바 이스라엘 자손의 패장들을 때리며
가로되 너희가 어찌하여 어제와 오늘에 만드는 벽돌의 수효를 전과 같이
채우지 아니하였느냐 하니라
출 5: 15 이스라엘 자손의 패장들이 가서 바로에게 호소하여 가로되 왕은 어찌하여
종들에게 이같이 하시나이까
출 5: 16 종들에게 짚을 주지 아니하고 그들이 우리더러 벽돌을 만들라 하나이다
종들이 매를 맞으오니 이는 왕의 백성의 허물이니이다
출 5: 17 바로가 가로되 너희가 게으르다 게으르다 그러므로 너희가 이르기를
우리가 가서 여호와께 희생을 드리자 하는도다
출 5: 18 이제 가서 일하라 짚은 너희에게 주지 않을지라도 너희가 벽돌은 여수히
바칠지니라
출 5: 19 이스라엘 자손의 패장들이 너희의 매일 만드는 벽돌을 조금도 감하지
못하리라 함을 듣고 화가 몸에 미친 줄 알고
출 5: 20 그들이 바로를 떠나 나올 때에 모세와 아론이 길에 선 것을 만나
출 5: 21 그들에게 이르되 너희가 우리로 바로의 눈과 그 신하의 눈에 미운 물건이
되게 하고 그들의 손에 칼을 주어 우리를 죽이게 하는도다 여호와는
너희를 감찰하시고 판단하시기를 원하노라
출 5: 22 모세가 여호와께 돌아와서 고하되 주여 어찌하여 이 백성으로 학대를
당케 하셨나이까 어찌하여 나를 보내셨나이까
출 5: 23 내가 바로에게 와서 주의 이름으로 말함으로부터 그가 이 백성을 더
학대하며 주께서도 주의 백성을 구원치 아니하시나이다
출 5: 1 Afterward Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said, "This is what
the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'Let my people go, so that they
may hold a festival to me in the desert.'"
출 5: 2 Pharaoh said, "Who is the LORD, that I should obey him and let
Israel go? I do not know the LORD and I will not let Israel go."
출 5: 3 Then they said, "The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Now let us
take a three-day journey into the desert to offer sacrifices to the
LORD our God, or he may strike us with plagues or with the sword."
출 5: 4 But the king of Egypt said, "Moses and Aaron, why are you taking the
people away from their labor? Get back to your work!"
출 5: 5 Then Pharaoh said, "Look, the people of the land are now numerous,
and you are stopping them from working."
출 5: 6 That same day Pharaoh gave this order to the slave drivers and
foremen in charge of the people:
출 5: 7 "You are no longer to supply the people with straw for making
bricks; let them go and gather their own straw.
출 5: 8 But require them to make the same number of bricks as before; don't
reduce the quota. They are lazy; that is why they are crying out,
'Let us go and sacrifice to our God.'
출 5: 9 Make the work harder for the men so that they keep working and pay
no attention to lies."
출 5: 10 Then the slave drivers and the foremen went out and said to the
people, "This is what Pharaoh says: 'I will not give you any more
straw.
출 5: 11 Go and get your own straw wherever you can find it, but your work
will not be reduced at all.'"
출 5: 12 So the people scattered all over Egypt to gather stubble to use for
straw.
출 5: 13 The slave drivers kept pressing them, saying, "Complete the work
required of you for each day, just as when you had straw."
출 5: 14 The Israelite foremen appointed by Pharaoh's slave drivers were
beaten and were asked, "Why didn't you meet your quota of bricks
yesterday or today, as before?"
출 5: 15 Then the Israelite foremen went and appealed to Pharaoh: "Why have
you treated your servants this way?
출 5: 16 Your servants are given no straw, yet we are told, 'Make bricks!'
Your servants are being beaten, but the fault is with your own
people."
출 5: 17 Pharaoh said, "Lazy, that's what you are--lazy! That is why you keep
saying, 'Let us go and sacrifice to the LORD.'
출 5: 18 Now get to work. You will not be given any straw, yet you must
produce your full quota of bricks."
출 5: 19 The Israelite foremen realized they were in trouble when they were
told, "You are not to reduce the number of bricks required of you
for each day."
출 5: 20 When they left Pharaoh, they found Moses and Aaron waiting to meet
them,
출 5: 21 and they said, "May the LORD look upon you and judge you! You have
made us a stench to Pharaoh and his officials and have put a sword
in their hand to kill us."
출 5: 22 Moses returned to the LORD and said, "O Lord, why have you brought
trouble upon this people? Is this why you sent me?
출 5: 23 Ever since I went to Pharaoh to speak in your name, he has brought
trouble upon this people, and you have not rescued your people at
all."
출 6: 1 여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 이제 내가 바로에게 하는 일을 네가
보리라 강한 손을 더하므로 바로가 그들을 보내리라 강한 손을 더하므로
바로가 그들을 그 땅에서 쫓아내리라
출 6: 2 하나님이 모세에게 말씀하여 가라사대 나는 여호와로라
출 6: 3 내가 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱에게 전능의 하나님으로 나타났으나 나의
이름을 여호와로는 그들에게 알리지 아니하였고
출 6: 4 가나안 땅 곧 그들의 우거하는 땅을 주기로 그들과 언약하였더니
출 6: 5 이제 애굽 사람이 종을 삼은 이스라엘 자손의 신음을 듣고 나의 언약을
기억하노라
출 6: 6 그러므로 이스라엘 자손에게 말하기를 나는 여호와라 내가 애굽 사람의
무거운 짐 밑에서 너희를 빼어내며 그 고역에서 너희를 건지며 편 팔과
큰 재앙으로 너희를 구속하여
출 6: 7 너희로 내 백성을 삼고 나는 너희 하나님이 되리니 나는 애굽 사람의
무거운 짐 밑에서 너희를 빼어낸 너희 하나님 여호와인 줄 너희가 알지라
출 6: 8 내가 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱에게 주기로 맹세한 땅으로 너희를 인도하고
그 땅을 너희에게 주어 기업을 삼게 하리라 나는 여호와로라 하셨다 하라
출 6: 9 모세가 이와 같이 이스라엘 자손에게 전하나 그들이 마음의 상함과
역사의 혹독함을 인하여 모세를 듣지 아니하였더라
출 6: 10 여호와께서 모세에게 일러 가라사대
출 6: 11 들어가서 애굽 왕 바로에게 말하여 이스라엘 자손을 그 땅에서 내어
보내게 하라
출 6: 12 모세가 여호와 앞에 고하여 가로되 이스라엘 자손도 나를 듣지
아니하였거든 바로가 어찌 들으리이까 나는 입이 둔한 자니이다
출 6: 13 여호와께서 모세와 아론에게 말씀하사 그들로 이스라엘 자손과 애굽 왕
바로에게 명을 전하고 이스라엘 자손을 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 내게
하시니라
출 6: 14 그 조상을 따라 집의 어른은 이러하니라 이스라엘의 장자 르우벤의 아들
하녹과 발루와 헤스론과 갈미니 이들은 르우벤의 족장이요
출 6: 15 시므온의 아들 여무엘과 야민과 오핫과 야긴과 소할과 가나안 여인의
소생 사울이니 이들은 시므온의 족장이요
출 6: 16 레위의 아들들의 이름은 그 연치대로 이러하니 게르손과 고핫과 므라리요
레위의 수는 일백삼십칠 세이었으며
출 6: 17 게르손의 아들들은 그 가족대로 립니와 시므이요
출 6: 18 고핫의 아들들은 아므람과 이스할과 헤브론과 웃시엘이요 고핫의 수는
일백삼십삼 세이었으며
출 6: 19 므라리의 아들은 마흘리와 무시니 이들은 그 연치대로 레위의 족장이요
출 6: 20 아므람이 그 아비의 누이 요게벳을 아내로 취하였고 그가 아론과 모세를
낳았으며 아므람의 수는 일백삼십칠 세이었으며
출 6: 21 이스할의 아들은 고라와 네벡과 시그리요
출 6: 22 웃시엘의 아들은 미사엘과 엘사반과 시드리요
출 6: 23 아론이 암미나답의 딸 나손의 누이 엘리세바를 아내로 취하였고 그가
나답과 아비후와 엘르아살과 이다말을 낳았으며
출 6: 24 고라의 아들은 앗실과 엘가나와 아비아삽이니 이들은 고라 사람의 족장이요
출 6: 25 아론의 아들 엘르아살이 부디엘의 딸 중에서 아내를 취하였고 그가
비느하스를 낳았으니 이들은 레위 사람의 조상을 따라 가족의 어른들이라
출 6: 26 이스라엘 자손을 그 군대대로 애굽 땅에서 인도하라 하신 여호와의 명을
받은 자는 이 아론과 모세요
출 6: 27 애굽 왕 바로에게 이스라엘 자손을 애굽에서 내어 보내라 말한 자도 이
모세와 아론이었더라
출 6: 28 여호와께서 애굽 땅에서 모세에게 말씀하시던 날에
출 6: 29 여호와께서 모세에게 일러 가라사대 나는 여호와라 내가 네게 이르는
바를 너는 애굽 왕 바로에게 다 고하라
출 6: 30 모세가 여호와 앞에서 고하되 나는 입이 둔한 자이오니 바로가 어찌 나를
들으리이까
출 6: 1 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Now you will see what I will do to
Pharaoh: Because of my mighty hand he will let them go; because of
my mighty hand he will drive them out of his country."
출 6: 2 God also said to Moses, "I am the LORD.
출 6: 3 I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty, but by
my name the LORD I did not make myself known to them.
출 6: 4 I also established my covenant with them to give them the land of
Canaan, where they lived as aliens.
출 6: 5 Moreover, I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the
Egyptians are enslaving, and I have remembered my covenant.
출 6: 6 "Therefore, say to the Israelites: 'I am the LORD, and I will bring
you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from
being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm
and with mighty acts of judgment.
출 6: 7 I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you
will know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from
under the yoke of the Egyptians.
출 6: 8 And I will bring you to the land I swore with uplifted hand to give
to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob. I will give it to you as a
possession. I am the LORD.'"
출 6: 9 Moses reported this to the Israelites, but they did not listen to
him because of their discouragement and cruel bondage.
출 6: 10 Then the LORD said to Moses,
출 6: 11 "Go, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the Israelites go out of his
country."
출 6: 12 But Moses said to the LORD, "If the Israelites will not listen to
me, why would Pharaoh listen to me, since I speak with faltering
lips?"
출 6: 13 Now the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron about the Israelites and
Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he commanded them to bring the Israelites
out of Egypt.
출 6: 14 These were the heads of their families: The sons of Reuben the
firstborn son of Israel were Hanoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi.
These were the clans of Reuben.
출 6: 15 The sons of Simeon were Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jakin, Zohar and Shaul
the son of a Canaanite woman. These were the clans of Simeon.
출 6: 16 These were the names of the sons of Levi according to their records:
Gershon, Kohath and Merari. Levi lived 137 years.
출 6: 17 The sons of Gershon, by clans, were Libni and Shimei.
출 6: 18 The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel. Kohath
lived 133 years.
출 6: 19 The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. These were the clans of
Levi according to their records.
출 6: 20 Amram married his father's sister Jochebed, who bore him Aaron and
Moses. Amram lived 137 years.
출 6: 21 The sons of Izhar were Korah, Nepheg and Zicri.
출 6: 22 The sons of Uzziel were Mishael, Elzaphan and Sithri.
출 6: 23 Aaron married Elisheba, daughter of Amminadab and sister of Nahshon,
and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
출 6: 24 The sons of Korah were Assir, Elkanah and Abiasaph. These were the
Korahite clans.
출 6: 25 Eleazar son of Aaron married one of the daughters of Putiel, and she
bore him Phinehas. These were the heads of the Levite families, clan
by clan.
출 6: 26 It was this same Aaron and Moses to whom the LORD said, "Bring the
Israelites out of Egypt by their divisions."
출 6: 27 They were the ones who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt about bringing
the Israelites out of Egypt. It was the same Moses and Aaron.
출 6: 28 Now when the LORD spoke to Moses in Egypt,
출 6: 29 he said to him, "I am the LORD. Tell Pharaoh king of Egypt
everything I tell you."
출 6: 30 But Moses said to the LORD, "Since I speak with faltering lips, why
would Pharaoh listen to me?"
출 7: 1 여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 볼지어다 내가 너로 바로에게 신이 되게
하였은즉 네 형 아론은 네 대언자가 되리니
출 7: 2 내가 네게 명한 바를 너는 네 형 아론에게 말하고 그는 바로에게 말하여
그로 이스라엘 자손을 그 땅에서 보내게 할지니라
출 7: 3 내가 바로의 마음을 강퍅케 하고 나의 표징과 나의 이적을 애굽 땅에
많이 행하리라마는
출 7: 4 바로가 너희를 듣지 아니할 터인즉 내가 내 손을 애굽에 더하여 여러 큰
재앙을 내리고 내 군대, 내 백성 이스라엘 자손을 그 땅에서 인도하여
낼지라
출 7: 5 내가 내 손을 애굽 위에 펴서 이스라엘 자손을 그 땅에서 인도하여 낼
때에야 애굽 사람이 나를 여호와인 줄 알리라 하시매
출 7: 6 모세와 아론이 여호와께서 자기들에게 명하신 대로 곧 그대로 행하였더라
출 7: 7 그들이 바로에게 말할 때에 모세는 팔십 세이었고 아론은 팔십삼
세이었더라
출 7: 8 여호와께서 모세와 아론에게 일러 가라사대
출 7: 9 바로가 너희에게 이르기를 너희는 이적을 보이라 하거든 너는 아론에게
명하기를 너의 지팡이를 가져 바로 앞에 던지라 하라 그것이 뱀이 되리라
출 7: 10 모세와 아론이 바로에게 가서 여호와의 명하신 대로 행하여 아론이
바로와 그 신하 앞에 지팡이를 던졌더니 뱀이 된지라
출 7: 11 바로도 박사와 박수를 부르매 그 애굽 술객들도 그 술법으로 그와 같이
행하되
출 7: 12 각 사람이 지팡이를 던지매 뱀이 되었으나 아론의 지팡이가 그들의
지팡이를 삼키니라
출 7: 13 그러나 바로의 마음이 강퍅하여 그들을 듣지 아니하니 여호와의 말씀과
같더라
출 7: 14 여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 바로의 마음이 완강하여 백성 보내기를
거절하는도다
출 7: 15 아침에 너는 바로에게로 가라 그가 물로 나오리니 너는 하숫가에 서서
그를 맞으며 그 뱀 되었던 지팡이를 손에 잡고
출 7: 16 그에게 이르기를 히브리 사람의 하나님 여호와께서 나를 왕에게 보내어
이르시되 내 백성을 보내라 그들이 광야에서 나를 섬길 것이니라
하였으나 이제까지 네가 듣지 아니하도다
출 7: 17 여호와가 이같이 이르노니 네가 이로 인하여 나를 여호와인 줄 알리라
하셨느니라 볼지어다 내가 내 손의 지팡이로 하수를 치면 그것이 피로
변하고
출 7: 18 하수의 고기가 죽고 그 물에서는 악취가 나리니 애굽 사람들이 그 물
마시기를 싫어하리라 하라
출 7: 19 여호와께서 또 모세에게 이르시되 아론에게 명하기를 네 지팡이를 잡고
네 팔을 애굽의 물들과 하수들과 운하와 못과 모든 호수 위에 펴라 하라
그것들이 피가 되리니 애굽 온 땅에와 나무 그릇에와 돌 그릇에 모두
피가 있으리라
출 7: 20 모세와 아론이 여호와의 명하신 대로 행하여 바로와 그 신하의 목전에서
지팡이를 들어 하수를 치니 그 물이 다 피로 변하고
출 7: 21 하수의 고기가 죽고 그 물에서는 악취가 나니 애굽 사람들이 하숫물을
마시지 못하며 애굽 온 땅에는 피가 있으나
출 7: 22 애굽 술객들도 자기 술법으로 그와 같이 행하므로 바로의 마음이
강퍅하여 그들을 듣지 아니하니 여호와의 말씀과 같더라
출 7: 23 바로가 돌이켜 궁으로 들어가고 그 일에도 관념하지 아니하였고
출 7: 24 애굽 사람들은 하숫물을 마실 수 없으므로 하숫가를 두루 파서 마실 물을
구하였더라
출 7: 25 여호와께서 하수를 치신 후 칠 일이 지나니라
출 7: 1 Then the LORD said to Moses, "See, I have made you like God to
Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet.
출 7: 2 You are to say everything I command you, and your brother Aaron is
to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go out of his country.
출 7: 3 But I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and though I multiply my
miraculous signs and wonders in Egypt,
출 7: 4 he will not listen to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt and with
mighty acts of judgment I will bring out my divisions, my people the
Israelites.
출 7: 5 And the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD when I stretch out my
hand against Egypt and bring the Israelites out of it."
출 7: 6 Moses and Aaron did just as the LORD commanded them.
출 7: 7 Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three when they spoke to
Pharaoh.
출 7: 8 The LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
출 7: 9 "When Pharaoh says to you, 'Perform a miracle,' then say to Aaron,
'Take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh,' and it will
become a snake."
출 7: 10 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the LORD
commanded. Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his
officials, and it became a snake.
출 7: 11 Pharaoh then summoned wise men and sorcerers, and the Egyptian
magicians also did the same things by their secret arts:
출 7: 12 Each one threw down his staff and it became a snake. But Aaron's
staff swallowed up their staffs.
출 7: 13 Yet Pharaoh's heart became hard and he would not listen to them,
just as the LORD had said.
출 7: 14 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Pharaoh's heart is unyielding; he
refuses to let the people go.
출 7: 15 Go to Pharaoh in the morning as he goes out to the water. Wait on
the bank of the Nile to meet him, and take in your hand the staff
that was changed into a snake.
출 7: 16 Then say to him, 'The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to
say to you: Let my people go, so that they may worship me in the
desert. But until now you have not listened.
출 7: 17 This is what the LORD says: By this you will know that I am the
LORD: With the staff that is in my hand I will strike the water of
the Nile, and it will be changed into blood.
출 7: 18 The fish in the Nile will die, and the river will stink; the
Egyptians will not be able to drink its water.'"
출 7: 19 The LORD said to Moses, "Tell Aaron, 'Take your staff and stretch
out your hand over the waters of Egypt--over the streams and canals,
over the ponds and all the reservoirs'--and they will turn to blood.
Blood will be everywhere in Egypt, even in the wooden buckets and
stone jars."
출 7: 20 Moses and Aaron did just as the LORD had commanded. He raised his
staff in the presence of Pharaoh and his officials and struck the
water of the Nile, and all the water was changed into blood.
출 7: 21 The fish in the Nile died, and the river smelled so bad that the
Egyptians could not drink its water. Blood was everywhere in Egypt.
출 7: 22 But the Egyptian magicians did the same things by their secret arts,
and Pharaoh's heart became hard; he would not listen to Moses and
Aaron, just as the LORD had said.
출 7: 23 Instead, he turned and went into his palace, and did not take even
this to heart.
출 7: 24 And all the Egyptians dug along the Nile to get drinking water,
because they could not drink the water of the river.
출 7: 25 Seven days passed after the LORD struck the Nile.
출 8: 1 여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 너는 바로에게 가서 그에게 이르기를
여호와의 말씀에 내 백성을 보내라 그들이 나를 섬길 것이니라
출 8: 2 네가 만일 보내기를 거절하면 내가 개구리로 너의 온 지경을 칠지라
출 8: 3 개구리가 하수에서 무수히 생기고 올라와서 네 궁에와 네 침실에와 네
침상 위에와 네 신하의 집에와 네 백성에게와 네 화덕에와 네 떡반죽
그릇에 들어갈지며
출 8: 4 개구리가 네게와 네 백성에게와 네 모든 신하에게 오르리라 하셨다 하라
출 8: 5 여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 아론에게 명하기를 네 지팡이를 잡고 네
팔을 강들과 운하들과 못 위에 펴서 개구리로 애굽 땅에 올라오게 하라
할지니라
출 8: 6 아론이 팔을 애굽 물들 위에 펴매 개구리가 올라와서 애굽 땅에 덮이니
출 8: 7 술객들도 자기 술법대로 이와 같이 하여 개구리로 애굽 땅에 올라오게
하였더라
출 8: 8 바로가 모세와 아론을 불러 이르되 여호와께 구하여 개구리를 나와 내
백성에게서 떠나게 하라 내가 이 백성을 보내리니 그들이 여호와께
희생을 드릴 것이니라
출 8: 9 모세가 바로에게 이르되 내가 왕과 왕의 신하와 왕의 백성을 위하여 어느
때에 구하여 이 개구리를 왕과 왕궁에서 끊어서 하수에만 있게
하오리이까 내게 보이소서
출 8: 10 그가 가로되 내일이니라 모세가 가로되 왕의 말씀대로 하여 왕으로 우리
하나님 여호와와 같은 이가 없는 줄을 알게 하리니
출 8: 11 개구리가 왕과 왕궁과 왕의 신하와 왕의 백성을 떠나서 하수에만
있으리이다 하고
출 8: 12 모세와 아론이 바로를 떠나 나가서 바로에게 내리신 개구리에 대하여
모세가 여호와께 간구하매
출 8: 13 여호와께서 모세의 말대로 하시니 개구리가 집에서, 마당에서, 밭에서
나와서 죽은지라
출 8: 14 사람들이 모아 무더기로 쌓으니 땅에서 악취가 나더라
출 8: 15 그러나 바로가 숨을 통할 수 있음을 볼 때에 그 마음을 완강케 하여
그들을 듣지 아니하였으니 여호와의 말씀과 같더라
출 8: 16 여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 아론에게 명하기를 네 지팡이를 들어 땅의
티끌을 치라 하라 그것이 애굽 온 땅에서 이가 되리라
출 8: 17 그들이 그대로 행할새 아론이 지팡이를 잡고 손을 들어 땅의 티끌을 치매
애굽 온 땅의 티끌이 다 이가 되어 사람과 생축에게 오르니
출 8: 18 술객들이 자기 술법으로 이같이 행하여 이를 내려 하였으나 못하였고
이는 사람과 생축에게 있은지라
출 8: 19 술객이 바로에게 고하되 이는 하나님의 권능이니이다 하나 바로의 마음이
강퍅케 되어 그들을 듣지 아니하였으니 여호와의 말씀과 같더라
출 8: 20 여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 아침에 일찌기 일어나 바로 앞에 서라
그가 물로 나오리니 그에게 이르기를 여호와의 말씀에 내 백성을 보내라
그들이 나를 섬길 것이니라
출 8: 21 네가 만일 내 백성을 보내지 아니하면 내가 너와 네 신하와 네 백성과 네
집들에 파리 떼를 보내리니 애굽 사람의 집집에 파리 떼가 가득할 것이며
그들의 거하는 땅에도 그러하리라
출 8: 22 그 날에 내가 내 백성의 거하는 고센 땅을 구별하여 그 곳에는 파리 떼가
없게 하리니 이로 말미암아 나는 세상 중의 여호와인 줄을 네가 알게 될
것이라
출 8: 23 내가 내 백성과 네 백성 사이에 구별을 두리니 내일 이 표징이 있으리라
하셨다 하라 하시고
출 8: 24 여호와께서 그와 같이 하시니 무수한 파리 떼가 바로의 궁에와 그 신하의
집에와 애굽 전국에 이르니 파리 떼로 인하여 땅이 해를 받더라
출 8: 25 바로가 모세와 아론을 불러 이르되 너희는 가서 이 땅에서 너희 하나님께
희생을 드리라
출 8: 26 모세가 가로되 그리함은 불가하니이다 우리가 우리 하나님 여호와께
희생을 드리는 것은 애굽 사람의 미워하는 바이온즉 우리가 만일 애굽
사람의 목전에서 희생을 드리면 그들이 그것을 미워하여 우리를 돌로
치지 아니하리이까
출 8: 27 우리가 사흘 길쯤 광야로 들어가서 우리 하나님 여호와께 희생을 드리되
우리에게 명하시는 대로 하려 하나이다
출 8: 28 바로가 가로되 내가 너희를 보내리니 너희가 너희 하나님 여호와께
광야에서 희생을 드릴 것이나 너무 멀리는 가지 말라 그런즉 너희는 나를
위하여 기도하라
출 8: 29 모세가 가로되 내가 왕을 떠나가서 여호와께 기도하리니 내일이면 파리
떼가 바로와 바로의 신하와 바로의 백성을 떠나려니와 바로는 이 백성을
보내어 여호와께 희생을 드리는 일에 다시 거짓을 행치 마소서 하고
출 8: 30 모세가 바로를 떠나 나와서 여호와께 기도하니
출 8: 31 여호와께서 모세의 말대로 하사 파리를 바로와 그 신하와 그 백성에게
몰수히 떠나게 하시니라
출 8: 32 그러나 바로가 이 때에도 마음을 완강케 하여 백성을 보내지 아니하였더라
출 8: 1 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Go to Pharaoh and say to him, 'This is
what the LORD says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me.
출 8: 2 If you refuse to let them go, I will plague your whole country with
frogs.
출 8: 3 The Nile will teem with frogs. They will come up into your palace
and your bedroom and onto your bed, into the houses of your
officials and on your people, and into your ovens and kneading
troughs.
출 8: 4 The frogs will go up on you and your people and all your officials.'"
출 8: 5 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Tell Aaron, 'Stretch out your hand
with your staff over the streams and canals and ponds, and make
frogs come up on the land of Egypt.'"
출 8: 6 So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the
frogs came up and covered the land.
출 8: 7 But the magicians did the same things by their secret arts; they
also made frogs come up on the land of Egypt.
출 8: 8 Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, "Pray to the LORD to take
the frogs away from me and my people, and I will let your people go
to offer sacrifices to the LORD."
출 8: 9 Moses said to Pharaoh, "I leave to you the honor of setting the time
for me to pray for you and your officials and your people that you
and your houses may be rid of the frogs, except for those that
remain in the Nile."
출 8: 10 "Tomorrow," Pharaoh said. Moses replied, "It will be as you say, so
that you may know there is no one like the LORD our God.
출 8: 11 The frogs will leave you and your houses, your officials and your
people; they will remain only in the Nile."
출 8: 12 After Moses and Aaron left Pharaoh, Moses cried out to the LORD
about the frogs he had brought on Pharaoh.
출 8: 13 And the LORD did what Moses asked. The frogs died in the houses, in
the courtyards and in the fields.
출 8: 14 They were piled into heaps, and the land reeked of them.
출 8: 15 But when Pharaoh saw that there was relief, he hardened his heart
and would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the LORD had said.
출 8: 16 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Tell Aaron, 'Stretch out your staff
and strike the dust of the ground,' and throughout the land of Egypt
the dust will become gnats."
출 8: 17 They did this, and when Aaron stretched out his hand with the staff
and struck the dust of the ground, gnats came upon men and animals.
All the dust throughout the land of Egypt became gnats.
출 8: 18 But when the magicians tried to produce gnats by their secret arts,
they could not. And the gnats were on men and animals.
출 8: 19 The magicians said to Pharaoh, "This is the finger of God." But
Pharaoh's heart was hard and he would not listen, just as the LORD
had said.
출 8: 20 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Get up early in the morning and
confront Pharaoh as he goes to the water and say to him, 'This is
what the LORD says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me.
출 8: 21 If you do not let my people go, I will send swarms of flies on you
and your officials, on your people and into your houses. The houses
of the Egyptians will be full of flies, and even the ground where
they are.
출 8: 22 "'But on that day I will deal differently with the land of Goshen,
where my people live; no swarms of flies will be there, so that you
will know that I, the LORD, am in this land.
출 8: 23 I will make a distinction between my people and your people. This
miraculous sign will occur tomorrow.'"
출 8: 24 And the LORD did this. Dense swarms of flies poured into Pharaoh's
palace and into the houses of his officials, and throughout Egypt
the land was ruined by the flies.
출 8: 25 Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, "Go, sacrifice to
your God here in the land."
출 8: 26 But Moses said, "That would not be right. The sacrifices we offer
the LORD our God would be detestable to the Egyptians. And if we
offer sacrifices that are detestable in their eyes, will they not
stone us?
출 8: 27 We must take a three-day journey into the desert to offer sacrifices
to the LORD our God, as he commands us."
출 8: 28 Pharaoh said, "I will let you go to offer sacrifices to the LORD
your God in the desert, but you must not go very far. Now pray for
me."
출 8: 29 Moses answered, "As soon as I leave you, I will pray to the LORD,
and tomorrow the flies will leave Pharaoh and his officials and his
people. Only be sure that Pharaoh does not act deceitfully again by
not letting the people go to offer sacrifices to the LORD."
출 8: 30 Then Moses left Pharaoh and prayed to the LORD,
출 8: 31 and the LORD did what Moses asked: The flies left Pharaoh and his
officials and his people; not a fly remained.
출 8: 32 But this time also Pharaoh hardened his heart and would not let the
people go.
출 9: 1 여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 바로에게 들어가서 그에게 이르라 히브리
사람의 하나님 여호와께서 말씀하시기를 내 백성을 보내라 그들이 나를
섬길 것이니라
출 9: 2 네가 만일 그들 보내기를 거절하고 억지로 잡아 두면
출 9: 3 여호와의 손이 들에 있는 네 생축 곧 말과 나귀와 약대와 우양에게
더하리니 심한 악질이 있을 것이며
출 9: 4 여호와가 이스라엘의 생축과 애굽의 생축을 구별하리니 이스라엘 자손에
속한 것은 하나도 죽지 아니하리라 하셨다 하라 하시고
출 9: 5 여호와께서 기한을 정하여 가라사대 여호와가 내일 이 땅에서 이 일을
행하리라 하시더니
출 9: 6 이튿날에 여호와께서 이 일을 행하시니 애굽의 모든 생축은 죽었으나
이스라엘 자손의 생축은 하나도 죽지 아니한지라
출 9: 7 바로가 보내어 본즉 이스라엘의 생축은 하나도 죽지 아니하였더라 그러나
바로의 마음이 완강하여 백성을 보내지 아니하니라
출 9: 8 여호와께서 모세와 아론에게 이르시되 너희는 풀무의 재 두 움큼을
가지고 모세가 바로의 목전에서 하늘을 향하여 날리라
출 9: 9 그 재가 애굽 온 땅의 티끌이 되어 애굽 온 땅의 사람과 짐승에게 붙어서
독종이 발하리라
출 9: 10 그들이 풀무의 재를 가지고 바로 앞에 서서 모세가 하늘을 향하여 날리니
사람과 짐승에게 붙어 독종이 발하고
출 9: 11 술객도 독종으로 인하여 모세 앞에 서지 못하니 독종이 술객들로부터
애굽 모든 사람에게 발하였음이라
출 9: 12 그러나 여호와께서 바로의 마음을 강퍅케 하셨으므로 그들을 듣지
아니하였으니 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하심과 같더라
출 9: 13 여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 아침에 일찌기 일어나 바로 앞에 서서
그에게 이르기를 히브리 사람의 하나님 여호와의 말씀에 내 백성을
보내라 그들이 나를 섬길 것이니라
출 9: 14 내가 이번에는 모든 재앙을 네 마음과 네 신하와 네 백성에게 내려 너로
온 천하에 나와 같은 자가 없음을 알게 하리라
출 9: 15 내가 손을 펴서 온역으로 너와 네 백성을 쳤더면 네가 세상에서 끊어졌을
것이나
출 9: 16 네가 너를 세웠음은 나의 능력을 네게 보이고 내 이름이 온 천하에
전파되게 하려 하였음이니라
출 9: 17 네가 여전히 내 백성 앞에 자고하고 그들을 보내지 아니하느냐
출 9: 18 내일 이맘때면 내가 중한 우박을 내리리니 애굽 개국 이래로 그같은 것이
있지 않던 것이리라
출 9: 19 이제 보내어 네 생축과 네 들에 있는 것을 다 모으라 사람이나 짐승이나
무릇 들에 있어서 집에 돌아오지 않은 자에게는 우박이 그 위에 내리리니
그것들이 죽으리라 하셨다 하라 하시니라
출 9: 20 바로의 신하 중에 여호와의 말씀을 두려워하는 자들은 그 종들과 생축을
집으로 피하여 들였으나
출 9: 21 여호와의 말씀을 마음에 두지 아니하는 자는 그 종들과 생축을 들에
그대로 두었더라
출 9: 22 여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 너는 하늘을 향하여 손을 들어 애굽
전국에 우박이 애굽 땅의 사람과 짐승과 밭의 모든 채소에 내리게 하라
출 9: 23 모세가 하늘을 향하여 지팡이를 들매 여호와께서 뇌성과 우박을 보내시고
불을 내려 땅에 달리게 하시니라 여호와께서 우박을 애굽 땅에 내리시매
출 9: 24 우박의 내림과 불덩이가 우박에 섞여 내림이 심히 맹렬하니 애굽 전국에
그 개국 이래로 그같은 것이 없던 것이라
출 9: 25 우박이 애굽 온 땅에서 사람과 짐승을 무론하고 무릇 밭에 있는 것을
쳤으며 우박이 또 밭의 모든 채소를 치고 들의 모든 나무를 꺾었으되
출 9: 26 이스라엘 자손의 거한 고센 땅에는 우박이 없었더라
출 9: 27 바로가 사람을 보내어 모세와 아론을 불러 그들에게 이르되 이번은 내가
범죄하였노라 여호와는 의로우시고 나와 나의 백성은 악하도다
출 9: 28 여호와께 구하여 이 뇌성과 우박을 그만 그치게 하라 내가 너희를
보내리니 너희가 다시는 머물지 아니하리라
출 9: 29 모세가 그에게 이르되 내가 성에서 나가자 곧 내 손을 여호와를 향하여
펴리니 그리하면 뇌성이 그치고 우박이 다시 있지 않을지라 세상이
여호와께 속한 줄을 왕이 알리이다
출 9: 30 그러나 왕과 왕의 신하들이 여호와 하나님을 아직도 두려워 아니할 줄을
내가 아나이다
출 9: 31 때에 보리는 이삭이 나왔고 삼은 꽃이 피었으므로 삼과 보리가 상하였으나
출 9: 32 그러나 밀과 나맥은 자라지 아니한 고로 상하지 아니하였더라
출 9: 33 모세가 바로를 떠나 성에서 나가서 여호와를 향하여 손을 펴매 뇌성과
우박이 그치고 비가 땅에 내리지 아니하니라
출 9: 34 바로가 비와 우박과 뇌성의 그친 것을 볼 때에 다시 범죄하여 마음을
완강케 하니 그와 그 신하가 일반이라
출 9: 35 바로의 마음이 강퍅하여 이스라엘 자손을 보내지 아니하였으니
여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하심과 같더라
출 9: 1 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Go to Pharaoh and say to him, 'This is
what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: "Let my people go, so
that they may worship me."
출 9: 2 If you refuse to let them go and continue to hold them back,
출 9: 3 the hand of the LORD will bring a terrible plague on your livestock
in the field--on your horses and donkeys and camels and on your
cattle and sheep and goats.
출 9: 4 But the LORD will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel
and that of Egypt, so that no animal belonging to the Israelites
will die.'"
출 9: 5 The LORD set a time and said, "Tomorrow the LORD will do this in the
land."
출 9: 6 And the next day the LORD did it: All the livestock of the Egyptians
died, but not one animal belonging to the Israelites died.
출 9: 7 Pharaoh sent men to investigate and found that not even one of the
animals of the Israelites had died. Yet his heart was unyielding and
he would not let the people go.
출 9: 8 Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, "Take handfuls of soot from a
furnace and have Moses toss it into the air in the presence of
Pharaoh.
출 9: 9 It will become fine dust over the whole land of Egypt, and festering
boils will break out on men and animals throughout the land."
출 9: 10 So they took soot from a furnace and stood before Pharaoh. Moses
tossed it into the air, and festering boils broke out on men and
animals.
출 9: 11 The magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils that
were on them and on all the Egyptians.
출 9: 12 But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart and he would not listen to
Moses and Aaron, just as the LORD had said to Moses.
출 9: 13 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Get up early in the morning, confront
Pharaoh and say to him, 'This is what the LORD, the God of the
Hebrews, says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me,
출 9: 14 or this time I will send the full force of my plagues against you
and against your officials and your people, so you may know that
there is no one like me in all the earth.
출 9: 15 For by now I could have stretched out my hand and struck you and
your people with a plague that would have wiped you off the earth.
출 9: 16 But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show
you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.
출 9: 17 You still set yourself against my people and will not let them go.
출 9: 18 Therefore, at this time tomorrow I will send the worst hailstorm
that has ever fallen on Egypt, from the day it was founded till now.
출 9: 19 Give an order now to bring your livestock and everything you have in
the field to a place of shelter, because the hail will fall on every
man and animal that has not been brought in and is still out in the
field, and they will die.'"
출 9: 20 Those officials of Pharaoh who feared the word of the LORD hurried
to bring their slaves and their livestock inside.
출 9: 21 But those who ignored the word of the LORD left their slaves and
livestock in the field.
출 9: 22 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand toward the sky
so that hail will fall all over Egypt--on men and animals and on
everything growing in the fields of Egypt."
출 9: 23 When Moses stretched out his staff toward the sky, the LORD sent
thunder and hail, and lightning flashed down to the ground. So the
LORD rained hail on the land of Egypt;
출 9: 24 hail fell and lightning flashed back and forth. It was the worst
storm in all the land of Egypt since it had become a nation.
출 9: 25 Throughout Egypt hail struck everything in the fields--both men and
animals; it beat down everything growing in the fields and stripped
every tree.
출 9: 26 The only place it did not hail was the land of Goshen, where the
Israelites were.
출 9: 27 Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron. "This time I have sinned," he
said to them. "The LORD is in the right, and I and my people are in
the wrong.
출 9: 28 Pray to the LORD, for we have had enough thunder and hail. I will
let you go; you don't have to stay any longer."
출 9: 29 Moses replied, "When I have gone out of the city, I will spread out
my hands in prayer to the LORD. The thunder will stop and there will
be no more hail, so you may know that the earth is the LORD'S.
출 9: 30 But I know that you and your officials still do not fear the LORD
God."
출 9: 31 (The flax and barley were destroyed, since the barley had headed and
the flax was in bloom.
출 9: 32 The wheat and spelt, however, were not destroyed, because they ripen
later.)
출 9: 33 Then Moses left Pharaoh and went out of the city. He spread out his
hands toward the LORD; the thunder and hail stopped, and the rain no
longer poured down on the land.
출 9: 34 When Pharaoh saw that the rain and hail and thunder had stopped, he
sinned again: He and his officials hardened their hearts.
출 9: 35 So Pharaoh's heart was hard and he would not let the Israelites go,
just as the LORD had said through Moses.
출 10: 1 여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 바로에게로 들어가라 내가 그의 마음과 그
신하들의 마음을 완강케 함은 나의 표징을 그들 중에 보이기 위함이며
출 10: 2 너로 내가 애굽에서 행한 일들 곧 내가 그 가운데서 행한 표징을 네
아들과 네 자손의 귀에 전하게 하려 함이라 너희가 나를 여호와인 줄
알리라
출 10: 3 모세와 아론이 바로에게 들어가서 그에게 이르되 히브리 사람의 하나님
여호와께서 말씀하시기를 네가 어느 때까지 내 앞에 겸비치 아니하겠느냐
내 백성을 보내라 그들이 나를 섬길 것이라
출 10: 4 네가 만일 내 백성 보내기를 거절하면 내일 내가 메뚜기로 네 경내에
들어가게 하리니
출 10: 5 메뚜기가 지면을 덮어서 사람이 땅을 볼 수 없을 것이라 메뚜기가 네게
남은 그것 곧 우박을 면하고 남은 것을 먹으며 들에 너희를 위하여
자라는 모든 나무를 먹을 것이며
출 10: 6 또 네 집들과 네 모든 신하의 집들과 모든 애굽 사람의 집들에
가득하리니 이는 네 아비와 네 조상이 세상에 있어 옴으로 오늘까지 보지
못하였던 것이리라 하셨다 하고 돌이켜 바로에게서 나오니
출 10: 7 바로의 신하들이 그에게 고하되 어느 때까지 이 사람이 우리의 함정이
되리이까 그 사람들을 보내어 그 하나님 여호와를 섬기게 하소서 왕은
아직도 애굽이 망한 줄을 알지 못하시나이까 하고
출 10: 8 모세와 아론을 바로에게로 다시 데려오니 바로가 그들에게 이르되 가서
너희 하나님 여호와를 섬기라 갈 자는 누구 누구뇨
출 10: 9 모세가 가로되 우리가 여호와 앞에 절기를 지킬 것인즉 우리가 남녀
노소와 우양을 데리고 가겠나이다
출 10: 10 바로가 그들에게 이르되 내가 너희와 너희 어린것들을 보내면 여호와를
너희와 함께 하게 함과 일반이니라 삼갈지어다 너희 경영이 악하니라
출 10: 11 그는 불가하니 너희 남정만 가서 여호와를 섬기라 이것이 너희의 구하는
바니라 이에 그들이 바로 앞에서 쫓겨나니라
출 10: 12 여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 네 손을 애굽 땅 위에 들어 메뚜기로 애굽
땅에 올라와서 우박에 상하지 아니한 밭의 모든 채소를 먹게 하라
출 10: 13 모세가 애굽 땅 위에 그 지팡이를 들매 여호와께서 동풍을 일으켜 온
낮과 온 밤에 불게 하시니 아침에 미쳐 동풍이 메뚜기를 불어 들인지라
출 10: 14 메뚜기가 애굽 온 땅에 이르러 그 사방에 내리매 그 해가 심하니 이런
메뚜기는 전에도 없었고 후에도 없을러라
출 10: 15 메뚜기가 온 지면에 덮여 날으매 땅이 어둡게 되었고 메뚜기가 우박에
상하지 아니한 밭의 채소와 나무 열매를 다 먹었으므로 애굽 전경에
나무나 밭의 채소나 푸른 것은 남지 아니하였더라
출 10: 16 바로가 모세와 아론을 급히 불러서 이르되 내가 너희 하나님 여호와와
너희에게 득죄하였으니
출 10: 17 청컨대 나의 죄를 이번만 용서하고 너희 하나님 여호와께 구하여 이
죽음만을 내게서 떠나게 하라
출 10: 18 그가 바로에게서 나가서 여호와께 구하매
출 10: 19 여호와께서 돌이켜 강렬한 서풍이 불게 하사 메뚜기를 홍해에
몰아넣으시니 애굽 온 지경에 메뚜기가 하나도 남지 아니하니라
출 10: 20 그러나 여호와께서 바로의 마음을 강퍅케 하셨으므로 이스라엘 자손을
보내지 아니하였더라
출 10: 21 여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 하늘을 향하여 네 손을 들어서 애굽 땅
위에 흑암이 있게 하라 곧 더듬을 만한 흑암이리라
출 10: 22 모세가 하늘을 향하여 손을 들매 캄캄한 흑암이 삼 일 동안 애굽 온 땅에
있어서
출 10: 23 그 동안은 사람 사람이 서로 볼 수 없으며 자기 처소에서 일어나는 자가
없으되 이스라엘 자손의 거하는 곳에는 광명이 있었더라
출 10: 24 바로가 모세를 불러서 이르되 너희는 가서 여호와를 섬기되 너희 양과
소는 머물러 두고 너희 어린것은 너희와 함께 갈지니라
출 10: 25 모세가 가로되 왕이라도 우리 하나님 여호와께 드릴 희생과 번제물을
우리에게 주어야 하겠고
출 10: 26 우리의 생축도 우리와 함께 가고 한 마리도 남길 수 없으니 이는 우리가
그 중에서 취하여 우리 하나님 여호와를 섬길 것임이며 또 우리가 거기
이르기까지는 어떤 것으로 여호와를 섬길는지 알지 못함이니이다 하나
출 10: 27 여호와께서 바로의 마음을 강퍅케 하셨으므로 그들을 보내기를 즐겨
아니하고
출 10: 28 모세에게 이르되 너는 나를 떠나가고 스스로 삼가 다시 내 얼굴을 보지
말라 내 얼굴을 보는 날에는 죽으리라
출 10: 29 모세가 가로되 왕의 말씀이 옳으니이다 내가 다시는 왕의 얼굴을 보지
아니하리이다
출 10: 1 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Go to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his
heart and the hearts of his officials so that I may perform these
miraculous signs of mine among them
출 10: 2 that you may tell your children and grandchildren how I dealt
harshly with the Egyptians and how I performed my signs among them,
and that you may know that I am the LORD."
출 10: 3 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said to him, "This is what
the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: 'How long will you refuse to
humble yourself before me? Let my people go, so that they may
worship me.
출 10: 4 If you refuse to let them go, I will bring locusts into your country
tomorrow.
출 10: 5 They will cover the face of the ground so that it cannot be seen.
They will devour what little you have left after the hail, including
every tree that is growing in your fields.
출 10: 6 They will fill your houses and those of all your officials and all
the Egyptians--something neither your fathers nor your forefathers
have ever seen from the day they settled in this land till now.'"
Then Moses turned and left Pharaoh.
출 10: 7 Pharaoh's officials said to him, "How long will this man be a snare
to us? Let the people go, so that they may worship the LORD their
God. Do you not yet realize that Egypt is ruined?"
출 10: 8 Then Moses and Aaron were brought back to Pharaoh. "Go, worship the
LORD your God," he said. "But just who will be going?"
출 10: 9 Moses answered, "We will go with our young and old, with our sons
and daughters, and with our flocks and herds, because we are to
celebrate a festival to the LORD."
출 10: 10 Pharaoh said, "The LORD be with you--if I let you go, along with
your women and children! Clearly you are bent on evil.
출 10: 11 No! Have only the men go; and worship the LORD, since that's what
you have been asking for." Then Moses and Aaron were driven out of
Pharaoh's presence.
출 10: 12 And the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand over Egypt so
that locusts will swarm over the land and devour everything growing
in the fields, everything left by the hail."
출 10: 13 So Moses stretched out his staff over Egypt, and the LORD made an
east wind blow across the land all that day and all that night. By
morning the wind had brought the locusts;
출 10: 14 they invaded all Egypt and settled down in every area of the country
in great numbers. Never before had there been such a plague of
locusts, nor will there ever be again.
출 10: 15 They covered all the ground until it was black. They devoured all
that was left after the hail--everything growing in the fields and
the fruit on the trees. Nothing green remained on tree or plant in
all the land of Egypt.
출 10: 16 Pharaoh quickly summoned Moses and Aaron and said, "I have sinned
against the LORD your God and against you.
출 10: 17 Now forgive my sin once more and pray to the LORD your God to take
this deadly plague away from me."
출 10: 18 Moses then left Pharaoh and prayed to the LORD.
출 10: 19 And the LORD changed the wind to a very strong west wind, which
caught up the locusts and carried them into the Red Sea. Not a
locust was left anywhere in Egypt.
출 10: 20 But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let the
Israelites go.
출 10: 21 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand toward the sky
so that darkness will spread over Egypt--darkness that can be felt."
출 10: 22 So Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and total darkness
covered all Egypt for three days.
출 10: 23 No one could see anyone else or leave his place for three days. Yet
all the Israelites had light in the places where they lived.
출 10: 24 Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and said, "Go, worship the LORD. Even
your women and children may go with you; only leave your flocks and
herds behind."
출 10: 25 But Moses said, "You must allow us to have sacrifices and burnt
offerings to present to the LORD our God.
출 10: 26 Our livestock too must go with us; not a hoof is to be left behind.
We have to use some of them in worshiping the LORD our God, and
until we get there we will not know what we are to use to worship
the LORD."
출 10: 27 But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he was not willing to let
them go.
출 10: 28 Pharaoh said to Moses, "Get out of my sight! Make sure you do not
appear before me again! The day you see my face you will die."
출 10: 29 "Just as you say," Moses replied, "I will never appear before you
again."
출 11: 1 여호와께서 모세에게 이르시기를 내가 이제 한 가지 재앙을 바로와
애굽에 내린 후에야 그가 너희를 여기서 보낼지라 그가 너희를 보낼
때에는 여기서 정녕 다 쫓아내리니
출 11: 2 백성에게 말하여 남녀로 각기 이웃들에게 은금 패물을 구하게 하라
하시더니
출 11: 3 여호와께서 그 백성으로 애굽 사람의 은혜를 받게 하셨고 또 그 사람
모세는 애굽국에서 바로의 신하와 백성에게 심히 크게 뵈었더라
출 11: 4 모세가 바로에게 이르되 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시기를 밤중에 내가
애굽 가운데로 들어가리니
출 11: 5 애굽 가운데 처음 난 것은 위에 앉은 바로의 장자로부터 맷돌 뒤에 있는
여종의 장자까지와 모든 생축의 처음 난 것이 죽을지라
출 11: 6 애굽 전국에 전무후무한 큰 곡성이 있으리라
출 11: 7 그러나 이스라엘 자손에게는 사람에게나 짐승에게나 개도 그 혀를
움직이지 않으리니 여호와가 애굽 사람과 이스라엘 사이에 구별하는 줄을
너희가 알리라 하셨나니
출 11: 8 왕의 이 모든 신하가 내게 내려와서 내게 절하며 이르기를 너와 너를
좇는 온 백성은 나가라 한 후에야 내가 나가리라 하고 심히 노하여
바로에게서 나오니라
출 11: 9 여호와께서 모세에게 이르시기를 바로가 너희를 듣지 아니할지라
그러므로 내가 애굽 땅에서 나의 기사를 더하리라 하셨고

출 11: 1 Now the LORD had said to Moses, "I will bring one more plague on
Pharaoh and on Egypt. After that, he will let you go from here, and
when he does, he will drive you out completely.
출 11: 2 Tell the people that men and women alike are to ask their neighbors
for articles of silver and gold."
출 11: 3 (The LORD made the Egyptians favorably disposed toward the people,
and Moses himself was highly regarded in Egypt by Pharaoh's
officials and by the people.)
출 11: 4 So Moses said, "This is what the LORD says: 'About midnight I will
go throughout Egypt.
출 11: 5 Every firstborn son in Egypt will die, from the firstborn son of
Pharaoh, who sits on the throne, to the firstborn son of the slave
girl, who is at her hand mill, and all the firstborn of the cattle
as well.
출 11: 6 There will be loud wailing throughout Egypt--worse than there has
ever been or ever will be again.
출 11: 7 But among the Israelites not a dog will bark at any man or animal.'
Then you will know that the LORD makes a distinction between Egypt
and Israel.
출 11: 8 All these officials of yours will come to me, bowing down before me
and saying, 'Go, you and all the people who follow you!' After that
I will leave." Then Moses, hot with anger, left Pharaoh.
출 11: 9 The LORD had said to Moses, "Pharaoh will refuse to listen to
you--so that my wonders may be multiplied in Egypt."
출 11: 10 Moses and Aaron performed all these wonders before Pharaoh, but the
LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let the Israelites
go out of his country.
출 12: 1 여호와께서 애굽 땅에서 모세와 아론에게 일러 가라사대
출 12: 2 이 달로 너희에게 달의 시작 곧 해의 첫 달이 되게 하고
출 12: 3 너희는 이스라엘 회중에게 고하여 이르라 이 달 열흘에 너희 매인이 어린
양을 취할지니 각 가족대로 그 식구를 위하여 어린 양을 취하되
출 12: 4 그 어린 양에 대하여 식구가 너무 적으면 그 집의 이웃과 함께 인수를
따라서 하나를 취하면 각 사람의 식량을 따라서 너희 어린 양을 계산할
것이며
출 12: 5 너희 어린 양은 흠 없고 일 년 된 수컷으로 하되 양이나 염소 중에서
취하고
출 12: 6 이 달 십사일까지 간직하였다가 해질 때에 이스라엘 회중이 그 양을 잡고
출 12: 7 그 피로 양을 먹을 집문 좌우 설주와 인방에 바르고
출 12: 8 그 밤에 그 고기를 불에 구워 무교병과 쓴 나물과 아울러 먹되
출 12: 9 날로나 물에 삶아서나 먹지 말고 그 머리와 정강이와 내장을 다 불에
구워 먹고
출 12: 10 아침까지 남겨 두지 말며 아침까지 남은 것은 곧 소화하라
출 12: 11 너희는 그것을 이렇게 먹을지니 허리에 띠를 띠고 발에 신을 신고 손에
지팡이를 잡고 급히 먹으라 이것이 여호와의 유월절이니라
출 12: 12 내가 그 밤에 애굽 땅에 두루 다니며 사람과 짐승을 무론하고 애굽 나라
가운데 처음 난 것을 다 치고 애굽의 모든 신에게 벌을 내리리라 나는
여호와로라
출 12: 13 내가 애굽 땅을 칠 때에 그 피가 너희의 거하는 집에 있어서 너희를
위하여 표적이 될지라 내가 피를 볼 때에 너희를 넘어가리니 재앙이
너희에게 내려 멸하지 아니하리라
출 12: 14 너희는 이 날을 기념하여 여호와의 절기를 삼아 영원한 규례로 대대에
지킬지니라
출 12: 15 너희는 칠 일 동안 무교병을 먹을지니 그 첫날에 누룩을 너희 집에서
제하라 무릇 첫날부터 칠일까지 유교병을 먹는 자는 이스라엘에서
끊쳐지리라
출 12: 16 너희에게 첫날에도 성회요 제 칠 일에도 성회가 되리니 이 두 날에는
아무 일도 하지 말고 각인의 식물만 너희가 갖출 것이니라
출 12: 17 너희는 무교절을 지키라 이 날에 내가 너희 군대를 애굽 땅에서 인도하여
내었음이니라 그러므로 너희가 영원한 규례를 삼아 이 날을 대대로
지킬지니라
출 12: 18 정월에 그 달 십사일 저녁부터 이십일일 저녁까지 너희는 무교병을 먹을
것이요
출 12: 19 칠 일 동안은 누룩을 너희 집에 있지 않게 하라 무릇 유교물을 먹는 자는
타국인이든지 본국에서 난 자든지 무론하고 이스라엘 회중에서 끊쳐지리니
출 12: 20 너희는 아무 유교물이든지 먹지 말고 너희 모든 유하는 곳에서 무교병을
먹을지니라
출 12: 21 모세가 이스라엘 모든 장로를 불러서 그들에게 이르되 너희는 나가서
너희 가족대로 어린 양을 택하여 유월절 양으로 잡고
출 12: 22 너희는 우슬초 묶음을 취하여 그릇에 담은 피에 적시어서 그 피를 문
인방과 좌우 설주에 뿌리고 아침까지 한 사람도 자기 집 문 밖에 나가지
말라
출 12: 23 여호와께서 애굽 사람을 치러 두루 다니실 때에 문 인방과 좌우 설주의
피를 보시면 그 문을 넘으시고 멸하는 자로 너희 집에 들어가서 너희를
치지 못하게 하실 것임이니라
출 12: 24 너희는 이 일을 규례로 삼아 너희와 너희 자손이 영원히 지킬 것이니
출 12: 25 너희는 여호와께서 허락하신 대로 너희에게 주시는 땅에 이를 때에 이
예식을 지킬 것이라
출 12: 26 이 후에 너희 자녀가 묻기를 이 예식이 무슨 뜻이냐 하거든
출 12: 27 너희는 이르기를 이는 여호와의 유월절 제사라 여호와께서 애굽 사람을
치실 때에 애굽에 있는 이스라엘 자손의 집을 넘으사 우리의 집을
구원하셨느니라 하라 하매 백성이 머리 숙여 경배하니라
출 12: 28 이스라엘 자손이 물러가서 그대로 행하되 여호와께서 모세와 아론에게
명하신 대로 행하니라
출 12: 29 밤중에 여호와께서 애굽 땅에서 모든 처음 난 것 곧 위에 앉은 바로의
장자로부터 옥에 갇힌 사람의 장자까지와 생축의 처음 난 것을 다 치시매
출 12: 30 그 밤에 바로와 그 모든 신하와 모든 애굽 사람이 일어나고 애굽에 큰
호곡이 있었으니 이는 그 나라에 사망치 아니한 집이 하나도
없었음이었더라
출 12: 31 밤에 바로가 모세와 아론을 불러서 이르되 너희와 이스라엘 자손은
일어나 내 백성 가운데서 떠나서 너희의 말대로 가서 여호와를 섬기며
출 12: 32 너희의 말대로 너희의 양도 소도 몰아가고 나를 위하여 축복하라 하며
출 12: 33 애굽 사람들은 말하기를 우리가 다 죽은 자가 되도다 하고 백성을
재촉하여 그 지경에서 속히 보내려 하므로
출 12: 34 백성이 발교되지 못한 반죽 담은 그릇을 옷에 싸서 어깨에 메니라
출 12: 35 이스라엘 자손이 모세의 말대로 하여 애굽 사람에게 은금 패물과 의복을
구하매
출 12: 36 여호와께서 애굽 사람으로 백성에게 은혜를 입히게 하사 그들의 구하는
대로 주게 하시므로 그들이 애굽 사람의 물품을 취하였더라
출 12: 37 이스라엘 자손이 라암셋에서 발행하여 숙곳에 이르니 유아 외에 보행하는
장정이 육십만 가량이요
출 12: 38 중다한 잡족과 양과 소와 심히 많은 생축이 그들과 함께 하였으며
출 12: 39 그들이 가지고 나온 발교되지 못한 반죽으로 무교병을 구웠으니 이는
그들이 애굽에서 쫓겨남으로 지체할 수 없었음이며 아무 양식도 준비하지
못하였음이었더라
출 12: 40 이스라엘 자손이 애굽에 거주한 지 사백삼십 년이라
출 12: 41 사백삼십 년이 마치는 그 날에 여호와의 군대가 다 애굽 땅에서 나왔은즉
출 12: 42 이 밤은 그들을 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 내심을 인하여 여호와 앞에 지킬
것이니 이는 여호와의 밤이라 이스라엘 자손이 다 대대로 지킬 것이니라
출 12: 43 여호와께서 모세와 아론에게 이르시되 유월절 규례가 이러하니라 이방
사람은 먹지 못할 것이나
출 12: 44 각 사람이 돈으로 산 종은 할례를 받은 후에 먹을 것이며
출 12: 45 거류인과 타국 품군은 먹지 못하리라
출 12: 46 한 집에서 먹되 그 고기를 조금도 집 밖으로 내지 말고 뼈도 꺾지 말지며
출 12: 47 이스라엘 회중이 다 이것을 지킬지니라
출 12: 48 너희와 함께 거하는 타국인이 여호와의 유월절을 지키고자 하거든 그
모든 남자는 할례를 받은 후에야 가까이 하여 지킬지니 곧 그는 본토인과
같이 될 것이나 할례받지 못한 자는 먹지 못할 것이니라
출 12: 49 본토인에게나 너희 중에 우거한 이방인에게나 이 법이 동일하니라
하셨으므로
출 12: 50 온 이스라엘 자손이 이와 같이 행하되 여호와께서 모세와 아론에게
명하신 대로 행하였으며
출 12: 51 그 같은 날에 여호와께서 이스라엘 자손을 그 군대대로 애굽 땅에서
인도하여 내셨더라
출 12: 1 The LORD said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt,
출 12: 2 "This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of
your year.
출 12: 3 Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this
month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for each
household.
출 12: 4 If any household is too small for a whole lamb, they must share one
with their nearest neighbor, having taken into account the number of
people there are. You are to determine the amount of lamb needed in
accordance with what each person will eat.
출 12: 5 The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect, and
you may take them from the sheep or the goats.
출 12: 6 Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all
the people of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight.
출 12: 7 Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and
tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs.
출 12: 8 That same night they are to eat the meat roasted over the fire,
along with bitter herbs, and bread made without yeast.
출 12: 9 Do not eat the meat raw or cooked in water, but roast it over the
fire--head, legs and inner parts.
출 12: 10 Do not leave any of it till morning; if some is left till morning,
you must burn it.
출 12: 11 This is how you are to eat it: with your cloak tucked into your
belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. Eat it
in haste; it is the LORD'S Passover.
출 12: 12 "On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every
firstborn--both men and animals--and I will bring judgment on all
the gods of Egypt. I am the LORD.
출 12: 13 The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are; and
when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague
will touch you when I strike Egypt.
출 12: 14 "This is a day you are to commemorate; for the generations to come
you shall celebrate it as a festival to the LORD--a lasting ordinance.
출 12: 15 For seven days you are to eat bread made without yeast. On the first
day remove the yeast from your houses, for whoever eats anything
with yeast in it from the first day through the seventh must be cut
off from Israel.
출 12: 16 On the first day hold a sacred assembly, and another one on the
seventh day. Do no work at all on these days, except to prepare food
for everyone to eat--that is all you may do.
출 12: 17 "Celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread, because it was on this
very day that I brought your divisions out of Egypt. Celebrate this
day as a lasting ordinance for the generations to come.
출 12: 18 In the first month you are to eat bread made without yeast, from the
evening of the fourteenth day until the evening of the twenty-first
day.
출 12: 19 For seven days no yeast is to be found in your houses. And whoever
eats anything with yeast in it must be cut off from the community of
Israel, whether he is an alien or native-born.
출 12: 20 Eat nothing made with yeast. Wherever you live, you must eat
unleavened bread."
출 12: 21 Then Moses summoned all the elders of Israel and said to them, "Go
at once and select the animals for your families and slaughter the
Passover lamb.
출 12: 22 Take a bunch of hyssop, dip it into the blood in the basin and put
some of the blood on the top and on both sides of the doorframe. Not
one of you shall go out the door of his house until morning.
출 12: 23 When the LORD goes through the land to strike down the Egyptians, he
will see the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe and will
pass over that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer to
enter your houses and strike you down.
출 12: 24 "Obey these instructions as a lasting ordinance for you and your
descendants.
출 12: 25 When you enter the land that the LORD will give you as he promised,
observe this ceremony.
출 12: 26 And when your children ask you, 'What does this ceremony mean to you?'
출 12: 27 then tell them, 'It is the Passover sacrifice to the LORD, who
passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt and spared our
homes when he struck down the Egyptians.'" Then the people bowed
down and worshiped.
출 12: 28 The Israelites did just what the LORD commanded Moses and Aaron.
출 12: 29 At midnight the LORD struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, from
the firstborn of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne, to the firstborn of
the prisoner, who was in the dungeon, and the firstborn of all the
livestock as well.
출 12: 30 Pharaoh and all his officials and all the Egyptians got up during
the night, and there was loud wailing in Egypt, for there was not a
house without someone dead.
출 12: 31 During the night Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, "Up!
Leave my people, you and the Israelites! Go, worship the LORD as you
have requested.
출 12: 32 Take your flocks and herds, as you have said, and go. And also bless
me."
출 12: 33 The Egyptians urged the people to hurry and leave the country. "For
otherwise," they said, "we will all die!"
출 12: 34 So the people took their dough before the yeast was added, and
carried it on their shoulders in kneading troughs wrapped in clothing.
출 12: 35 The Israelites did as Moses instructed and asked the Egyptians for
articles of silver and gold and for clothing.
출 12: 36 The LORD had made the Egyptians favorably disposed toward the
people, and they gave them what they asked for; so they plundered
the Egyptians.
출 12: 37 The Israelites journeyed from Rameses to Succoth. There were about
six hundred thousand men on foot, besides women and children.
출 12: 38 Many other people went up with them, as well as large droves of
livestock, both flocks and herds.
출 12: 39 With the dough they had brought from Egypt, they baked cakes of
unleavened bread. The dough was without yeast because they had been
driven out of Egypt and did not have time to prepare food for
themselves.
출 12: 40 Now the length of time the Israelite people lived in Egypt was 430
years.
출 12: 41 At the end of the 430 years, to the very day, all the LORD'S
divisions left Egypt.
출 12: 42 Because the LORD kept vigil that night to bring them out of Egypt,
on this night all the Israelites are to keep vigil to honor the LORD
for the generations to come.
출 12: 43 The LORD said to Moses and Aaron, "These are the regulations for the
Passover: "No foreigner is to eat of it.
출 12: 44 Any slave you have bought may eat of it after you have circumcised
him,
출 12: 45 but a temporary resident and a hired worker may not eat of it.
출 12: 46 "It must be eaten inside one house; take none of the meat outside
the house. Do not break any of the bones.
출 12: 47 The whole community of Israel must celebrate it.
출 12: 48 "An alien living among you who wants to celebrate the LORD'S
Passover must have all the males in his household circumcised; then
he may take part like one born in the land. No uncircumcised male
may eat of it.
출 12: 49 The same law applies to the native-born and to the alien living
among you."
출 12: 50 All the Israelites did just what the LORD had commanded Moses and
Aaron.
출 12: 51 And on that very day the LORD brought the Israelites out of Egypt by
their divisions.
